This is where Google’s newest tool, “Google Offerwall” in its beta phase comes in. Google Adsense Offerwall provides users with multiple options to access quality content, trying to minimize bounce rates and increase revenue for creators.

Offerwall not only presents new opportunities for revenue generation but also strives to enhance user experience.

Google Offerwall presents the following options to users:

  • Viewing a rewarded ad
  • completing a first-party user interest survey
  • or paying for site-wide access through micropayments.

Each of these options ensures more effective monetization.

View a Rewarded Ad: Users can opt to watch a short video ad, generally ranging from zero to 30 seconds in duration. This option allows continued access to content, and initial AdSense testing has indicated a consistent 9% revenue uplift. Complete a First-Party User Interest Survey: Offerwall presents an opportunity for users to share their interests directly. Ads are then served using Publisher Provided Signals (PPS) based on these stated interests, increasing the likelihood of engagement and the potential for higher ad revenue from future impressions.
In addition to providing these user-centric choices, Google Offerwall integrates seamlessly with your existing Consent Management Platform (CMP). This means you maintain control over when and where the Offerwall appears on your site, thereby tailoring it to your specific needs and user behavior patterns.

How to implement

Google Offerwall messages are designed to help you grow revenue by diversifying monetization opportunities on your sites.

Go on the Privacy & messaging tab, you can create an Offerwall, define the pages it appears on, and how frequently it’s shown to repeat site visitors.

An Offerwall message contains several screens that are shown to users when they view your message, which you can preview and configure in the Privacy & messaging message builder:

Offerwall: The main screen of your Offerwall message. Displays an overview of the user choices you turn on in the message builder and instructs site visitors to make a selection to continue accessing your site’s content.
Logo: Your site’s logo. To include a logo here, add a logo to your site.
User choices: A list of the user choices your Offerwall will display to users. Allows site visitors to choose how they access your site content.

“View an ad” is currently the only user choice option available for AdSense Offerwalls.
User choice screens: The screens shown to site visitors when they click a user choice option on your Offerwall and take action to complete the user choice (for example, by viewing a rewarded ad). The available user choice screens shown in the message builder preview depend on which user choices you’ve turned on.
